Laundry and organisation for smaller spaces

Small laundries work when every item has a clear footprint, a drying plan and a safe route around doors and appliances.

Measure the working space

Record depth, wall width, ceiling height and the swing of every door. Leave access to taps, ventilation and filters. A folding rack may be more useful than a permanent solution if it can be stored cleanly between loads.

Choose systems you can maintain

Open baskets make sorting easy but collect dust; closed containers look tidy but need labels. Pick a method that matches how often you wash and who will use it.
